eStatements: Fast, Convenient, Secure
First State Bank now offers the speed, convenience, and security of “eStatements”—your bank statements sent electronically, by e-mail, to your computer.
First State Bank eStatements are absolutely free. There is no charge for switching to eStatements and no charge to receive them.
| |
eStatements are fast because there is no mailing time. You get your bank statement sooner and can reconcile your records sooner.
eStatements are convenient. They include all the same information that would be contained in a paper statement. Anywhere that you can read your e-mail, you can access your First State Bank eStatement—at home, at work, on vacation—anywhere. You can store eStatements in your computer or on a floppy disk or CD. And you can print them for reading or storage.
eStatements are secure. Your eStatement is password protected. No one else can read your eStatement or any of your personal financial information it contains, without your password. First State Bank uses online security systems and encryption that are among the best in the industry. According the U.S. Department of Justice, electronic bank statements are much more secure against identity theft than paper statements. Most identity thieves obtain personal data from stolen U.S. Postal mail or from unshredded documents stolen from garbage cans and recycling bins. Electronic files present a much tougher target for identity thieves.

You can receive a combined eStatement that includes your checking, savings, and other accounts in one easy to use and easy to track statement

Signing up for First State Bank eStatements is easy. Just fill out the eStatement Application form, choose a password, forward it on to us, and we’ll activate your eStatements. You can do it by mail, or by stopping in at any First State Bank office. The first month, we’ll send you both an eStatement and a paper statement, as a test, to ensure that you can get your eStatement quickly and easily. After that, you will get your monthly statements by e-mail. Each eStatement will come to you as an e-mail attachment, in PDF file format. PDF (Portable Document Format) is a worldwide standard for sharing and displaying computerized documents. To open and view PDF files, you will need Adobe Reader@, a free, easy-to-install, easy-to-use program. You can find it on the Web at www.adobe.com, or by searching on “Adobe Reader.”
