First State Bank is aware that other financial institutions in our region and their customers have been affected recently by internet scams. Specifically, their customers have been contacted via email and directed to a website page that appears to be that of their financial institution, and requests that the customer provide confidential information such as a card number, expiration date, and PIN number as a security measure. Please be aware that these are not legitimate websites!

Additionally, we have learned that other financial institution's customers have been contacted by scam artists to provide similar, confidential information by telephone.

While First State Bank and its customers have not yet been the target of such scams, there is always this possibility. We are continuously on guard to keep your accounts protected, however we ask for your diligence in protecting your information as well. We advise all First State Bank customers to be cautious and to be sure they are using First State Bank's official web site www.bankfirststate.com. Additionally, please be aware that First State Bank will never email or call you to request confidential account numbers, PIN numbers, social security numbers, etc. Should you receive an email or phone call to this effect, do not respond but rather contact our Customer Care Center immediately (1-800-994-2500).
